Measurement 1
Width, side wall to side wall
Open the doors and clear the cabinet floor. Measure the flat interior across the front, wall to wall, behind the face frame.
Measurement 2
Depth, front to back
Measure from the inside of the cabinet front to the back wall. If pipes rise through the cabinet floor, stop at the front of the pipes and use that number instead.
Why we would rather you not cut around the pipes
Almost every leak starts at the drain or the disposal, which sit toward the middle and front of the cabinet. A mat that stops in front of the floor pipes still sits under the part that leaks, and it keeps its lip intact all the way around. Cut a notch into the lip and you have opened the one wall holding the water in.
If you would rather cut the mat to wrap around the pipes, seal every cut with a premium silicone caulk for the best protection. It works well, though a sealed cut is a repair and we cannot guarantee it stays watertight the way an uncut lip does.

Every mat, and the smallest opening it needs. Cabinet sizes are nominal: a "36-inch base" is 36 inches outside, about 34.5 inches inside, and the mat is sized for the interior.
